One of the most frequently asked questions: How does Ares II compare to the bigger brother Pontus II?

It's a good question. I usually leave it to the reviewers/customers to comment / feedback. My comment might be biased, hence, may not be convincing afterall :)

My take? I have indeed compared the Ares II and Pontus II.

I felt the jump from Ares II to Pontus II is significant. With the Pontus II, the amount of details, clarity, and bass definition are another level. In comparison, the Ares II is smooth, meatier. Bass is great on both with Pontus II focusing more on definition and natural response.

I personally think that the Pontus II is the best value DAC in the entire DENAFRIPS DACs line up.

I always recommend the customers to go for the best within the budget. This will keep the upgrade bugs away for a longer period of time.

That being said, what matters most is - Enjoy the music.
